Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.42% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 4.96% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.127 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 4.76% or 0.050 points to end at 1.100 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 4.59% or 0.180 points to 4.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which lost 11.11% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.06 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 4.29% or 0.015 points to end at 0.335 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.96% or 0.010 points to 0.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.20% or 0.56 to $45.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.40 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 5.69 to trade at $1233.19 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2492, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7313.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.92.
