Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Electricity, Basic Metals and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which rose 18.97% or 0.110 points to trade at 0.690 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 10.20% or 0.200 points to end at 2.160 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 8.96% or 0.190 points to 2.310 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which lost 4.95% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.960 in late trade. Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) declined 4.19% or 0.190 points to end at 4.350 and Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) shed 3.64% or 1.44 points to 38.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 120 and 77 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.75 to $1259.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.29% or 0.66 to hit $50.69 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 0.72 to trade at $52.42 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.38% to 3.0839, while EUR/TRY fell 0.27% to 3.4139.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 97.50.
