Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Borusan Mannesmann Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRSAN), which rose 8.30% or 0.82 points to trade at 10.70 at the close. Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) added 4.89% or 0.300 points to end at 6.430 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 4.09% or 0.670 points to 17.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 3.33% or 0.80 points to trade at 23.22 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 2.96% or 0.55 points to end at 18.05 and Yazicilar Holding AS (IS:YAZIC) shed 2.54% or 0.58 points to 22.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 191 to 149 and 66 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.08% or 0.96 to $1227.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.56% or 0.26 to hit $45.96 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.36 to trade at $48.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.06% to 3.5831, while EUR/TRY rose 0.46% to 3.9169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 98.97.
