Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which rose 10.10% or 0.400 points to trade at 4.360 at the close. Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) added 4.54% or 1.02 points to end at 23.50 and Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) was up 3.93% or 0.070 points to 1.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER), which lost 9.80% or 1.69 points to trade at 15.55 in late trade. Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) declined 9.32% or 1.10 points to end at 10.70 and Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) shed 8.86% or 1.04 points to 10.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 337 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.49% or 17.90 to $1182.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.42% or 2.29 to hit $64.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.58% or 1.87 to trade at $70.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 5.01% to 6.0306, while EUR/TRY fell 5.24% to 6.8370.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 96.67.
