Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which rose 3.96% or 1.06 points to trade at 27.80 at the close. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 3.29% or 0.200 points to end at 6.270 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) was up 3.13% or 0.030 points to 0.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN), which lost 7.13% or 0.51 points to trade at 6.64 in late trade. Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) declined 6.82% or 0.150 points to end at 2.050 and Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) shed 6.76% or 0.940 points to 12.960.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 319 to 63 and 24 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1224.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.38% or 0.94 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.77 to trade at $73.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.94% to 4.8806, while EUR/TRY rose 2.87% to 5.7039.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 94.40.
