Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Transport and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 2.61% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 4.91% or 0.160 points to trade at 3.420 at the close. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 4.10% or 0.45 points to end at 11.42 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) was up 3.01% or 0.120 points to 4.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN), which lost 5.88% or 0.60 points to trade at 9.61 in late trade. Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) declined 5.75% or 0.57 points to end at 9.34 and Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) shed 5.57% or 0.190 points to 3.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 322 to 61 and 22 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.96% or 12.53 to $1289.17 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.44% or 0.23 to hit $52.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.37 to trade at $57.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.75% to 3.5684, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 4.1929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 93.20.
