Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Sports and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA), which rose 11.76% or 0.800 points to trade at 7.600 at the close. Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) added 10.11% or 11.20 points to end at 122.00 and Aygaz AS (IS:AYGAZ) was up 9.52% or 1.00 points to 11.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Migros Ticaret AS (IS:MGROS), which lost 15.61% or 2.77 points to trade at 14.98 in late trade. Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) declined 13.22% or 0.600 points to end at 3.940 and Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) shed 13.02% or 0.250 points to 1.670.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 347 to 50 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.35% or 16.40 to $1202.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.50% or 1.69 to hit $65.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.92% or 1.40 to trade at $71.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 9.45% to 7.0080, while EUR/TRY rose 9.14% to 7.9881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.25.
