Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Information Technology and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 2.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which rose 3.32% or 0.72 points to trade at 22.40 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) added 2.82% or 0.04 points to end at 1.46 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) was up 2.80% or 0.50 points to 18.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which lost 5.60% or 0.230 points to trade at 3.880 in late trade. Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM) declined 5.21% or 0.280 points to end at 5.090 and Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) shed 5.18% or 1.64 points to 30.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 302 to 69 and 37 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1192.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.33% or 1.75 to hit $73.21 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.98% or 1.68 to trade at $83.32 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.27% to 6.0244, while EUR/TRY fell 0.85% to 6.9565.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 95.08.
