Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Metals and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which rose 5.53% or 3.15 points to trade at 60.15 at the close. Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) added 5.30% or 0.17 points to end at 3.38 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was up 4.03% or 0.100 points to 2.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 5.96% or 0.390 points to trade at 6.150 in late trade. Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) declined 5.14% or 1.62 points to end at 29.92 and Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) shed 5.08% or 0.090 points to 1.680.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 263 to 97 and 47 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.20 to $1232.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.73% or 0.51 to hit $69.24 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.47 to trade at $79.58 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.24% to 5.6546, while EUR/TRY rose 1.32% to 6.5110.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 95.44.
