Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Food & Beverages and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.40% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 5.18% or 0.170 points to trade at 3.450 at the close. Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) added 4.26% or 0.160 points to end at 3.920 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was up 4.12% or 0.800 points to 20.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which lost 6.82% or 2.34 points to trade at 31.98 in late trade. Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) declined 5.83% or 0.820 points to end at 13.250 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) shed 4.63% or 2.16 points to 44.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 234 to 116 and 59 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 1.90 to $1301.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.34 to hit $66.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $76.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.10% to 4.5733, while EUR/TRY rose 1.13% to 5.3926.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 93.53.
