Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO), which rose 20.00% or 0.150 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) added 17.10% or 1.440 points to end at 9.860 and Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) was up 4.29% or 0.120 points to 2.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS), which lost 3.89% or 4.05 points to trade at 99.95 in late trade. Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) declined 3.74% or 0.62 points to end at 15.94 and Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) shed 3.45% or 0.070 points to 1.960.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 227 to 128 and 50 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1340.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.12% or 1.39 to hit $64.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.68% or 1.16 to trade at $68.04 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.29% to 3.7821, while EUR/TRY fell 0.03% to 4.6974.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 88.97.
