Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Telecoms and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS), which rose 4.41% or 3.75 points to trade at 88.85 at the close. Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 4.23% or 13.80 points to end at 340.00 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) was up 4.02% or 0.130 points to 3.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which lost 4.48% or 0.76 points to trade at 16.20 in late trade. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) declined 3.91% or 0.150 points to end at 3.690 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) shed 3.65% or 2.30 points to 60.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 265 to 98 and 40 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 1.90 to $1318.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.64% or 0.99 to hit $61.36 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 0.90 to trade at $67.47 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 3.7655, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 4.5284.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 91.84.
