Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME), which rose 8.37% or 0.340 points to trade at 4.400 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 6.02% or 0.330 points to end at 5.810 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was up 5.00% or 0.810 points to 17.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which lost 6.87% or 1.580 points to trade at 21.420 in late trade. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) declined 4.63% or 0.350 points to end at 7.210 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) shed 4.30% or 1.48 points to 32.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 248 to 119 and 37 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 2.33 to $1352.63 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.75% or 0.86 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.26 to trade at $54.23 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.21% to 3.4104, while EUR/TRY rose 0.31% to 4.1075.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.25.
