Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Basic Metals and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which rose 6.26% or 0.560 points to trade at 9.510 at the close. Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) added 4.68% or 0.140 points to end at 3.130 and Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS) was up 3.98% or 0.35 points to 9.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which lost 3.16% or 0.180 points to trade at 5.510 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 3.05% or 1.20 points to end at 38.10 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) shed 2.83% or 0.170 points to 5.840.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 251 to 103 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.12% or 15.10 to $1332.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.72% or 1.13 to hit $64.67 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.24% or 1.56 to trade at $68.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.84% to 3.7635, while EUR/TRY rose 0.27% to 4.6835.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.72% at 89.12.
