Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Sports and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 8.09% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.470 at the close. Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) added 5.04% or 0.230 points to end at 4.790 and Alarko Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:ALGYO) was up 3.16% or 1.34 points to 43.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA), which lost 5.63% or 0.250 points to trade at 4.190 in late trade. Alkim Alkali Kimya AS (IS:ALKIM) declined 4.63% or 1.18 points to end at 24.30 and Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) shed 3.76% or 0.240 points to 6.140.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 281 to 92 and 34 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.04 to $1293.14 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.30 to trade at $51.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.07% to 3.5391, while EUR/TRY rose 0.20% to 4.1812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.06.
