Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Wood, Paper & Printing and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which rose 9.50% or 0.690 points to trade at 7.950 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 6.90% or 2.38 points to end at 36.88 and Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK) was up 4.38% or 2.40 points to 57.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which lost 19.87% or 0.310 points to trade at 1.250 in late trade. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 10.41% or 0.460 points to end at 3.960 and Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) shed 8.98% or 0.150 points to 1.520.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 311 to 67 and 27 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.10% or 14.20 to $1303.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.14% or 0.82 to hit $71.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.70 to trade at $79.10 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 3.76% to 4.7477, while EUR/TRY rose 4.13% to 5.5755.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 93.72.
