Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Technology and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL), which rose 5.22% or 0.61 points to trade at 12.30 at the close. Alarko Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:ALGYO) added 3.95% or 1.60 points to end at 42.10 and Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK) was up 2.67% or 0.33 points to 12.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which lost 4.01% or 1.14 points to trade at 27.28 in late trade. Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) declined 3.91% or 0.670 points to end at 16.450 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) shed 3.73% or 0.050 points to 1.290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 254 to 111 and 44 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.49% or 6.00 to $1225.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.76% or 0.53 to hit $69.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.67 to trade at $74.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.75% to 4.8564, while EUR/TRY rose 1.19% to 5.6664.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 94.48.
