Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which rose 8.84% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.970 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 3.68% or 0.290 points to end at 8.180 and Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) was up 3.43% or 1.06 points to 32.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which lost 6.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.490 in late trade. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) declined 5.23% or 0.080 points to end at 1.450 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) shed 3.06% or 0.030 points to 0.950.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 165 and 63 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.21% or 2.75 to $1279.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $54.16 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.18 to trade at $62.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.13% to 5.3344, while EUR/TRY rose 0.12% to 6.0636.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.998.
