Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 6.90% or 0.610 points to trade at 9.450 at the close. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) added 6.06% or 0.120 points to end at 2.100 and Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA) was up 5.59% or 0.35 points to 6.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which lost 5.00% or 0.280 points to trade at 5.320 in late trade. Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) declined 5.00% or 0.110 points to end at 2.090 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) shed 4.42% or 0.180 points to 3.890.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 232 to 130 and 47 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.20 to $1240.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.79% or 2.65 to hit $67.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 4.21% or 3.17 to trade at $72.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.43% to 4.8340, while EUR/TRY fell 0.21% to 5.6641.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.27.
