Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Electricity and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 12.85% or 1.340 points to trade at 11.770 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) added 3.86% or 0.080 points to end at 2.150 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 2.87% or 1.020 points to 36.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anel Elektrik Proje Taahhut ve Ticaret AS (IS:ANELE), which lost 6.93% or 0.260 points to trade at 3.490 in late trade. Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) declined 6.36% or 0.330 points to end at 4.860 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) shed 4.32% or 0.230 points to 5.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 209 to 137 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.43% or 5.70 to $1326.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.39% or 0.85 to hit $60.51 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.45 to trade at $64.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.55% to 3.8655, while EUR/TRY rose 1.04% to 4.7941.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 89.62.
