Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Technology and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 5.80% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.460 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) added 5.62% or 1.12 points to end at 21.06 and Yazicilar Holding AS (IS:AGHOL) was up 5.53% or 0.67 points to 12.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which lost 7.59% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.460 in late trade. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 5.63% or 0.400 points to end at 6.710 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) shed 4.45% or 2.50 points to 53.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 193 to 163 and 53 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.89% or 11.65 to $1327.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.81% or 0.98 to hit $55.21 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.66 to trade at $62.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.98% to 5.1733, while EUR/TRY fell 0.99% to 5.9364.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.097.
