Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Wood, Paper & Printing and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA), which rose 18.74% or 0.920 points to trade at 5.830 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) added 16.93% or 0.760 points to end at 5.250 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 6.01% or 0.500 points to 8.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME), which lost 4.13% or 0.170 points to trade at 3.950 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.70% or 0.020 points to end at 0.520 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) shed 2.79% or 0.260 points to 9.050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 194 to 143 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.56% or 7.00 to $1239.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.25 to hit $57.74 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.19 to trade at $64.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.36% to 3.8502, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 4.5173.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 94.14.
