Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Tourism, Electricity and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.32% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which rose 8.24% or 0.350 points to trade at 4.600 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 6.97% or 0.140 points to end at 2.150 and Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) was up 6.29% or 0.200 points to 3.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which lost 3.80% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.760 in late trade. Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) declined 3.79% or 0.180 points to end at 4.570 and Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) shed 2.30% or 0.180 points to 7.640.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 250 to 101 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.54% or 6.77 to $1260.37 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.55% or 0.28 to hit $50.95 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.18 to trade at $53.79 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.17% to 3.5692, while EUR/TRY rose 0.08% to 4.0105.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.88.
