Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which rose 6.23% or 0.71 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) added 4.98% or 0.270 points to end at 5.690 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 4.39% or 0.170 points to 4.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA), which lost 4.07% or 1.56 points to trade at 36.80 in late trade. Turkcell (IS:TCELL) declined 2.48% or 0.30 points to end at 11.79 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 2.34% or 0.42 points to 17.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 232 to 96 and 82 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.28% or 3.40 to $1220.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.48% or 0.59 to hit $39.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.34 to trade at $40.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 2.8803, while EUR/TRY rose 0.23% to 3.2230.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.16.
