Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Telecoms and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.92% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which rose 16.19% or 0.68 points to trade at 4.88 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 5.93% or 0.070 points to end at 1.250 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 5.04% or 0.060 points to 1.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which lost 3.58% or 1.26 points to trade at 33.94 in late trade. Trakya Cam (IS:TRKCM) declined 1.55% or 0.030 points to end at 1.900 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 1.27% or 0.65 points to 50.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 175 to 150 and 86 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.21% or 15.20 to $1244.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.92% or 1.51 to hit $36.99 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.55% or 1.03 to trade at $39.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 2.8728, while EUR/TRY fell 0.27% to 3.1899.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.57.
