Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.63% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 10.26% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.430 at the close. Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) added 3.96% or 0.17 points to end at 4.46 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was up 3.58% or 0.32 points to 9.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcelik (IS:ARCLK), which lost 2.12% or 0.50 points to trade at 23.06 in late trade. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) declined 1.94% or 0.020 points to end at 1.010 and Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) shed 1.61% or 0.09 points to 5.51.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 204 to 137 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.96% or 11.65 to $1219.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.20% or 0.11 to hit $53.77 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $56.82 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.18% to 3.7247, while EUR/TRY fell 0.81% to 4.0298.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 99.44.
