Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Transport, Basic Metals and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which rose 7.63% or 1.820 points to trade at 25.680 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) added 6.15% or 0.330 points to end at 5.700 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 5.87% or 0.920 points to 16.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS), which lost 6.02% or 0.46 points to trade at 7.18 in late trade. Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) declined 2.08% or 0.27 points to end at 12.71 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) shed 1.03% or 0.65 points to 62.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 285 to 76 and 43 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.70 to $1303.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 4.10% or 2.90 to hit $67.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.26% or 2.57 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.08% to 4.7053, while EUR/TRY fell 0.68% to 5.4882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.10.
