Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which rose 11.00% or 3.30 points to trade at 33.30 at the close. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) added 7.36% or 0.39 points to end at 5.69 and Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK) was up 5.51% or 0.070 points to 1.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which lost 7.55% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.980 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.08% or 0.45 points to end at 14.16 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) shed 1.94% or 0.090 points to 4.550.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 281 to 76 and 44 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.59 to $1278.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.20 to trade at $62.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.29% to 3.9087, while EUR/TRY fell 0.69% to 4.6627.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 92.81.
