Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.59% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN), which rose 9.39% or 0.310 points to trade at 3.610 at the close. Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) added 8.02% or 0.53 points to end at 7.14 and Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) was up 6.81% or 0.280 points to 4.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN), which lost 5.81% or 27.00 points to trade at 438.00 in late trade. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) declined 4.51% or 0.17 points to end at 3.60 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 3.13% or 0.72 points to 22.28.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 217 to 127 and 63 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.38% or 4.60 to $1205.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.39% or 1.69 to hit $72.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.98% or 2.33 to trade at $80.57 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 3.37% to 6.0823, while EUR/TRY fell 3.12% to 7.1693.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.67.
