Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which rose 7.26% or 0.310 points to trade at 4.580 at the close. Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) added 7.10% or 0.110 points to end at 1.660 and Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS) was up 6.52% or 4.65 points to 75.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:ALCTL), which lost 2.50% or 0.140 points to trade at 5.450 in late trade. Aygaz AS (IS:AYGAZ) declined 2.08% or 0.25 points to end at 11.79 and Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) shed 1.92% or 0.23 points to 11.73.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 234 to 130 and 41 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.50% or 6.50 to $1319.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $71.09 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $77.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.90% to 4.2511, while EUR/TRY fell 0.47% to 5.0641.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 92.69.
