Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Basic Metals and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO), which rose 5.57% or 0.760 points to trade at 14.410 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 5.51% or 0.67 points to end at 12.84 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) was up 4.74% or 0.120 points to 2.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which lost 2.36% or 2.80 points to trade at 115.60 in late trade. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 1.97% or 1.20 points to end at 59.60 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) shed 1.88% or 0.44 points to 22.96.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 249 to 101 and 56 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.55% or 6.90 to $1255.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $56.56 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.39 to trade at $62.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.87% to 3.8827, while EUR/TRY rose 1.51% to 4.5768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.69.
