Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.16% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which rose 5.99% or 4.70 points to trade at 83.20 at the close. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) added 5.49% or 2.60 points to end at 50.00 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) was up 5.07% or 0.140 points to 2.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO), which lost 5.61% or 1.30 points to trade at 21.88 in late trade. Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) declined 5.17% or 0.060 points to end at 1.100 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) shed 3.28% or 0.060 points to 1.770.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 180 to 159 and 66 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.95% or 11.40 to $1187.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.80% or 0.57 to hit $72.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.52 to trade at $81.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 2.02% to 5.9848, while EUR/TRY fell 2.48% to 6.9992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 94.41.
