Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Sports, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which rose 11.39% or 2.250 points to trade at 22.000 at the close. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) added 9.30% or 0.970 points to end at 11.400 and Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) was up 6.50% or 0.40 points to 6.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 4.53% or 0.180 points to trade at 3.790 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 2.79% or 0.98 points to end at 34.20 and Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS) shed 2.24% or 0.20 points to 8.72.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 274 to 83 and 48 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.80% or 10.50 to $1326.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.25% or 0.74 to hit $59.94 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.66 to trade at $63.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.36% to 3.8050, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 4.6713.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 90.14.
