Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Leasing & Factoring and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 7.50% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.290 at the close. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) added 7.28% or 0.26 points to end at 3.83 and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) was up 6.51% or 4.95 points to 80.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA), which lost 3.68% or 1.12 points to trade at 29.32 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.25% or 0.76 points to end at 22.62 and Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) shed 2.77% or 0.380 points to 13.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 234 to 121 and 53 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 4.80 to $1228.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.06% or 0.66 to hit $61.55 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.35 to trade at $71.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.99% to 5.4097, while EUR/TRY rose 1.34% to 6.2089.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 95.75.
