Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF), which rose 11.46% or 0.33 points to trade at 3.21 at the close. Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) added 10.98% or 0.090 points to end at 0.910 and Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) was up 9.26% or 0.150 points to 1.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL), which lost 8.08% or 4.34 points to trade at 49.36 in late trade. Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) declined 5.23% or 1.280 points to end at 23.200 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) shed 5.05% or 0.880 points to 16.550.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 195 to 160 and 52 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1230.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.67% or 1.92 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.44 to trade at $79.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.66% to 5.5913, while EUR/TRY fell 1.98% to 6.4559.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.05.
