Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Technology and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.53% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO), which rose 4.09% or 0.590 points to trade at 15.010 at the close. Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) added 3.30% or 2.50 points to end at 78.35 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 3.17% or 0.84 points to 27.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which lost 12.30% or 0.620 points to trade at 4.420 in late trade. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) declined 4.05% or 0.49 points to end at 11.61 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 2.70% or 0.48 points to 17.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 172 to 167 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 5.70 to $1261.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.51% or 0.38 to hit $73.42 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.77 to trade at $77.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.09% to 4.5701, while EUR/TRY fell 0.07% to 5.3704.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.84.
