Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Tourism and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 8.70% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) added 6.38% or 0.030 points to end at 0.500 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) was up 5.65% or 0.140 points to 2.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO), which lost 8.87% or 0.430 points to trade at 4.420 in late trade. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.05% or 0.45 points to end at 14.31 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) shed 2.68% or 0.250 points to 9.090.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 224 to 116 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.55% or 7.10 to $1294.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.83% or 1.08 to hit $57.87 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $63.56 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.66% to 3.8906, while EUR/TRY fell 1.72% to 4.6393.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 92.69.
