Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Transport and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 7.32% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) added 5.56% or 0.140 points to end at 2.660 and Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA) was up 4.96% or 0.34 points to 7.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which lost 7.69% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.320 in late trade. Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) declined 4.26% or 0.060 points to end at 1.350 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 4.07% or 0.100 points to 2.360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 215 to 145 and 47 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.18% or 2.35 to $1316.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.80% or 0.43 to hit $54.09 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.53 to trade at $62.51 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.53% to 5.2200, while EUR/TRY rose 0.26% to 5.9409.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 95.980.
