FRANKFURT, Aug 12 (Reuters) - German industrial group Thyssenkrupp TKAG.DE appointed Vivek Bhatia as head of its Asia Pacific regional operations on Friday, replacing Stefan Schmitt, who will move to the company's headquarters to become head of human resources strategy.
Bhatia, 38, a former Boston Consulting Group adviser, has been head of strategy, markets and development for the region since 2014.
Thyssenkrupp made sales of 2 billion euros ($2.23 billion) and employed 4,100 people last fiscal year in the region, which includes Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam but not China.
The changes will take effect on Oct. 1. ($1 = 0.8973 euros)
