Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) has started site work preparations for a 5,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the copper-focused Remorse target within the company’s flagship Yalgoo Project in Western Australia.
After works were significantly delayed due to unforeseen weather and flooding onsite, safe access has now been established and earthworks, including critical site access and drill pad construction, have commenced.
Tempest expects that once this work is completed drilling will commence later this month.
The Remorse target, on the eastern side of the Yalgoo Project, was selected based on geochemical and geophysical anomalies identified during surveys, where Tempest has interpreted a 4-kilometre area as prospective for copper-zinc mineralisation.
The Yalgoo Project consists of 1,000 square kilometres in the Yalgoo region of WA, near high-profile neighbours including 29 Metals Ltd’s Golden Grove copper-zinc-gold-silver mine; Spartan Resources’ Yalgoo Gold Project; Silverlake’s Deflector and Rothsay gold mines, and Capricorn Metals’ Mt Gibson Gold Project.
