Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Iron & Steel and Auto sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chang Type (TW:1541), which rose 10.00% or 5.70 points to trade at 62.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Asrock (TW:3515) added 9.92% or 4.30 points to end at 47.65 and Ali (TW:3041) was up 9.87% or 1.50 points to 16.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swancor (TW:4733), which fell 7.60% or 18.50 points to trade at 225.00 at the close. King Yuan Elec (TW:2449) declined 6.09% or 1.35 points to end at 20.80 and Tpk Holding (TW:3673) was down 5.81% or 5.00 points to 81.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 478 to 365.
Shares in Chang Type (TW:1541) rose to all time highs; rising 10.00% or 5.70 to 62.70.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.64% or 0.29 to $45.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.52% or 0.26 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1148.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.23% to 32.465, while TWD/CNY fell 0.41% to 0.1944.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 97.14.
