Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Iron & Steel and Plastic sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aver (TW:3669), which rose 10.00% or 1.35 points to trade at 14.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Maxtek Tech (TW:3315) added 10.00% or 1.60 points to end at 17.60 and Victory (TW:1340) was up 9.99% or 6.90 points to 76.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sweeten Const (TW:5525), which fell 9.64% or 1.60 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) declined 8.13% or 0.46 points to end at 5.20 and Hiti Digital (TW:3494) was down 7.38% or 1.20 points to 15.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 425 to 414 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sweeten Const (TW:5525) fell to 3-years lows; losing 9.64% or 1.60 to 15.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.65% or 0.29 to $45.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.69% or 0.33 to hit $48.18 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1168.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.30% to 32.458, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1952.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 95.08.
