Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Spirox (TW:3055), which rose 10.00% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025) added 9.96% or 0.26 points to end at 2.87 and Kaori Heat (TW:8996) was up 9.95% or 4.20 points to 46.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tpk Holding (TW:3673), which fell 9.57% or 9.10 points to trade at 86.00 at the close. Epistar (TW:2448) declined 6.65% or 2.05 points to end at 28.80 and Ares Int'L (TW:2471) was down 6.12% or 0.90 points to 13.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 645 to 196.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.85% or 0.39 to $45.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.69% or 0.34 to hit $48.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.22% or 14.40 to trade at $1161.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.42% to 32.544, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.1934.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.59.
