Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sun Yad Tech (TW:1316), which rose 10.00% or 2.30 points to trade at 25.30 at the close. Cheng Loong (TW:1904) added 9.93% or 1.45 points to end at 16.05 and Pao Lung (TW:1906) was up 9.90% or 2.85 points to 31.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatung Co Ltd (TW:2371), which lost 8.49% or 1.35 points to trade at 14.55 in late trade. Quintain Steel (TW:2017) declined 7.37% or 0.80 points to end at 10.05 and Pqi (TW:6145) shed 5.24% or 0.75 points to 13.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 406 to 344 and 127 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.21% or 0.11 to $52.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.20% or 0.11 to hit $55.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1232.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.67% to 31.006, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2235.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 102.06.
