Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Les Enphants Co Ltd (TW:2911), which rose 9.86% or 1.05 points to trade at 11.70 at the close. Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) added 9.70% or 1.45 points to end at 16.40 and Lotes Co Ltd (TW:3533) was up 7.06% or 9.50 points to 144.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which lost 7.86% or 3.85 points to trade at 45.15 in late trade. Tai Roun Products Co Ltd (TW:1220) declined 5.91% or 0.65 points to end at 10.35 and Tatung Co (TW:2371) shed 5.38% or 0.70 points to 12.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 585 to 200 and 91 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.25% or 0.57 to $44.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.16% or 0.56 to hit $47.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.73 to trade at $1221.57 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.02% to 30.588, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 95.71.
