Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mag Tech (TW:2358), which rose 10.00% or 0.69 points to trade at 7.59 at the close. Epileds Tech (TW:4956) added 9.96% or 2.30 points to end at 25.40 and Para (TW:6226) was up 9.91% or 0.65 points to 7.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crowell (TW:2528), which lost 8.05% or 0.63 points to trade at 7.20 in late trade. Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) declined 7.14% or 0.500 points to end at 6.500 and Mirle Auto (TW:2464) shed 6.81% or 3.20 points to 43.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 467 to 301 and 85 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $46.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1315.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 31.725, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2102.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 96.06.
