Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Nan Ya Pcb Cor (TW:8046), which rose 9.92% or 2.40 points to trade at 26.60 at the close. Leadtrend (TW:3588) added 9.91% or 3.30 points to end at 36.60 and Tpcc (TW:4725) was up 9.86% or 2.15 points to 23.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Transasia (TW:6702), which lost 10.00% or 0.11 points to trade at 0.99 in late trade. Crowell (TW:2528) declined 8.47% or 0.58 points to end at 6.27 and Evertex (TW:1470) shed 4.88% or 0.95 points to 18.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 390 to 374 and 110 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.59% or 0.30 to $51.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.44% or 0.24 to hit $54.26 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.49% or 5.55 to trade at $1135.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.04% to 31.906, while TWD/CNY rose 0.28% to 0.2179.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 102.94.
