Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Hotels and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which rose 9.89% or 2.30 points to trade at 25.55 at the close. Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) added 9.88% or 2.40 points to end at 26.70 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was up 9.65% or 1.25 points to 14.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406), which lost 8.21% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.90 in late trade. Farglory Land Development Co Ltd (TW:5522) declined 6.70% or 2.80 points to end at 39.00 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) shed 5.84% or 0.80 points to 12.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 390 to 366 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.60% or 0.27 to $45.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.29 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.06 to trade at $1244.74 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 30.403, while TWD/CNY fell 0.22% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.28.
