Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.88% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jess-Link Products Co Ltd (TW:6197), which rose 5.09% or 1.25 points to trade at 25.80 at the close. Jih Lin Technology Co Ltd (TW:5285) added 4.11% or 3.00 points to end at 76.00 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 3.45% or 1.00 points to 29.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ritek Corp (TW:2349), which lost 10.00% or 1.250 points to trade at 11.250 in late trade. Casetek Holdings Ltd (TW:5264) declined 10.00% or 5.20 points to end at 46.80 and Episil-Precision Inc (TW:3016) shed 10.00% or 4.70 points to 42.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 793 to 73 and 48 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.74% or 0.55 to $74.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.56% or 0.47 to hit $85.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1203.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.881, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2231.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.42.
