Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Electronics sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Plotech Co Ltd (TW:6141), which rose 9.83% or 1.45 points to trade at 16.20 at the close. ADLINK Technology Inc (TW:6166) added 7.78% or 3.30 points to end at 45.70 and Rectron Ltd (TW:2302) was up 7.64% or 0.72 points to 10.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which lost 9.91% or 0.66 points to trade at 6.00 in late trade. Taisol Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3338) declined 6.03% or 2.10 points to end at 32.70 and Silergy Corp (TW:6415) shed 5.24% or 24.50 points to 443.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 500 to 281 and 131 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.62% or 0.32 to $52.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.60% or 0.36 to hit $60.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.05 to trade at $1305.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.832, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2186.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 95.368.
